DFS pitchers for May 4
We’re diving into the Daily Fantasy Sports (DFS) craze and will be bringing you the two pitchers we’re using in Draft Kings with other possibilities as well.
Dallas Keuchel: The lefty is backing up everything he did last year, continuing to be an elite ground-ball pitcher who can get some strikeouts and is a good bet for a win on the red-hot Astros. At just $8,000, he saves $4,200 on using Felix Hernandez or $4,000 on Clayton Kershaw. This allowed us to get a trio of the Astros’ right-handed hitters against a crappy lefty in Ross Detwiler – Evan Gattis, Jose Altuve and George Springer.
Jordan Zimmermann: The Nationals righty has been his usual self outside one debacle at Boston, so his $8,800 price point is still a bit of a bargain. He’s a great bet to win at home against Miami’s fifth starter David Phelps.
There are some stacks that could provide enough cheap options to use King Felix or Kershaw, including the aforementioned Astros, the Blue Jays against Yankees fill-in starter Chase Whitley and the Diamondbacks against lefty Tyler Matzek at Coors Field.
