DFS pitchers for May 30
We’re diving into the Daily Fantasy Sports (DFS) craze and will be bringing you the two pitchers we’re using in Draft Kings with other possibilities as well.
Jesse Hahn: The A’s youngster is coming off a four-hitter against the Tigers, yet costs just $6,400 for a matchup with the Yankees in Oakland. His strikeouts are down to 6.0 K/9 from 8.6 last year but his walks are also down to 2.0 BB/9 from 3.9. Hahn is getting groundballs at a 51.7% rate, so we believe in the 3.71 xFIP and the possibility the strikeouts tick up and we have an even better pitcher. Using Hahn allowed us to stack the lineup with stars like Miguel Cabrera, Justin Upton and Dustin Pedroia.
Tsuyoshi Wada: The Cubs lefty has impressed in two starts since coming off the DL, but we normally avoid going against the hard-to-strikeout Royals. The price of $6,600 for a guy averaging 19.7 fantasy points was too much to pass up for the six-game late slate that thin on aces. Using Wada with Hahn allowed us to continue stacking our lineup against Rangers rookie Chi Chi Gonzalez with Hanley Ramirez and Mookie Betts in addition to Pedroia.
